A Well Without End

"Where you tend a rose, a thistle cannot grow." - Frances Hodgson Burnett 'A Secret Garden'

I stroll
In lush gardens
And hidden paths
Golden beams
Raining down
Sprinkling
Dappled light
Through the seasons
Of change

Plucking weeds
Along the way
Hidden
Between roses
And daffodils
Watered with hate
Rooted in anger
And fear

I cast them
Into the well
Without end
Hoping
Against hope
To never
See them again
