Moringa Oleifera

This is the moringa oleifera or what the locals in PI call kamunggay or malunggay.  Most everyone grows this wonderful tree in their yard. Though delicate and fragile looking they are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, it's considered a superfood.  They add the tiny green leaves to soups, omelettes, spaghetti as well as other dishes.  They are delicious!  The pods that grow from the trees are also edible, the first year's growth but subsequent growths become bitter over time.  I haven't had the pleasure of trying the pods yet but I will eventually.  Yummy stuff!
