The Glue Is Gone

The glue is gone
Has melted with the heat
Of the sun
We have scattered
Like leaves
Caught hold
By the whispering wind
Promises
In distant lands
The thread thin
And pulled taut
Can snap
With the lightest tap

The glue is gone
We have all run
Away
To far off shores
We know the score
To hold together
Brings nothing
But tragedy
Disaster
Though some
Have strayed
Not too far
Memories to be
Replayed

The glue is gone
A drop, a smidgen
None
I will fire the gun
To start my race
To fly to another
Place
Where I will land?
I leave that
In God's hands
