A Fateful Date

Bar Sinister

Bar sinister
Has an ominous sound
Is it meant to astound?

Nullius filius
Sounds important
And portentous
Maybe a bit pretentious

Oh the ill-fated child
Born of sin
Shall grow untamed and wild
Lead the innocent
Down the path of no return
With a kiss and a smile
And away they're sent
Oh but what if this by-blow
Is of right and sound mind
Then the child is twice cursed
She must come from below
All hell and damnation
Inspired her creation
There is no doubt
That she will do her worst
While she twists and shouts

From the minds
Of the ignorant
Past and present
For a child
No matter how it arrived
Is a gift from above
And should receive
Nothing but love

This child of the first
Is strong
With lungs that can scream
Long
And loud
She has a thirst
For the written word
With angels as her guide
She has nothing to hide
Honesty is her game
The truth in her name

She of earth and fire
Of softness and desire
Walks through life
Through the happiness
And the strife
With a wink and a smile
For she knows
All lessons only last
For a while

She holds out her hand
To her big strong man
As she walks by his side
Three steps to his one
Long stride

This child of love
Born of secrecy
A love child
Of illegitimacy
Has nothing but love to give
And a loving lifetime to live

Spectral Arms

Oh the utopian games we play
No force on earth
Will bid me say nay, nay, nay

Enthralled, I have been
Ensnared by your charms
You take delight as I writhe in
Your spectral arms

Your voice echoes through the mist
A deep timbre
You have only but to whisper
And my soul can't resist

Unknown Song

Unknown Song

It was a sultry night.  The skies clear.  The stars glittering in the moonlight.  I, on the beach for my nightly stroll.  An isolated breeze, cool against my heated skin, tickled the edges of my dress as they skipped to and fro.  Dancing a merry dance of catch me if you can.  It was then I saw him.  A tall dark figure standing at the border of earth and sea.  The waves lapping at his ankles as if kisses weren't enough to satisfy.  He slowly turned his head towards me.  With the moon in full bloom behind him all I saw was a dark silhouette, a flash of gold.  A hand held out to mine...frozen, I stood.  This faceless man waited patiently as I found the courage to lift my hand.  I placed it lightly in his and I watched in fascination as his large fingers wrapped around mine like a delicate velvet throw.  I suddenly realized the soft tunes of music playing in the background as he pulled me close.  My body melted into his as he slowly swayed to the silken melody of an unknown song.
